Turning climate action into opportunity for everyone

Wales Climate Week will return in 2026 - Date to be announced.

Wales Climate Week 2025 (3-7 November) brought together people from all corners of Wales - from the public sector and industry to businesses, community groups and charities - all with one shared goal: how can we turn climate ambition into real, practical action.

Discussions during the week’s annual virtual conference centred on the areas where Wales has devolved powers to make a real difference. Areas such as Housing, Transport and Agriculture and Land Use were the focus of the conference with plenty of honest conversations about the challenges, barriers and what needs to happen next to reduce carbon emissions in their areas.

But it didn’t stop there - throughout the week, speakers also dug into big themes such as fairness, how the public could get more involved in decision making, and what a greener future could mean for the Welsh economy.

What happens next?

Wales has the ideas, but now it’s all about putting them into action. The Welsh Government is gathering and reviewing everything that came out of discussions during the week and will use all the insight to help shape the next Carbon Action Plan (Carbon Budget 3), which is set to be published at the end of 2026.
