Let’s get back to nature, and together, we can help it flourish.
Wales is home to incredible wildlife, but many of our species are in decline. By protecting habitats, reducing pollution, and making space for nature in our everyday lives, we can bring back the wildlife and wild places that make Wales so special.

Why take action?
Loss of wildlife and biodiversity
Habitats have been destroyed, leaving one in six of Wales’ wildlife species at risk of extinction.
Keep Wales healthy
Protecting nature helps keep us healthy. Spending time outdoors is good for our mental and physical wellbeing.
Reduce pollution
Cutting down forests and polluting water, soil and air increases harmful emissions that warm the planet.
Protect our ecosystems
We depend on nature for clean air, water and food which will become harder to find as the nature emergency worsens.

What can we do?
Plant and protect trees
Trees clean the air, cool our streets, and give wildlife a place to thrive. Discover how to grow your own green corner and keep our forests safe from harm.
Make space for nature
Swap concrete for wild corners, let your grass grow and avoid using pesticides by hand weeding to encourage biodiversity and help butterflies, bees and other species survive.
Welcome wildlife
Whether it’s a bee B&B, a hedgehog house or a bird box, creating cosy corners for wildlife helps protect some of Wales' most beloved creatures.
Be water wise
Save water by swapping sprinklers for watering cans, and collect rain in a water butt for dry days. It’s better for the planet and for your wallets too.
